Lead Structural Engineer

This is a full-time on-site role for an Experienced Structural Engineer, located in Highland Heights, OH. The Lead Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing and reviewing structural analysis and calculations, overseeing structural engineering projects, and collaborating with clients and other design disciplines from other firms. The role involves using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and review designs. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- 
Prepare and review structural design calculations for buildings and underground structures. 
- 
Draft letters, condition assessments, and technical memoranda documenting engineering decisions and recommendations. 
- 
Prepare CAD drawings and 3D BIM models of structural designs for printing and delivery. 
- 
Regularly visit clients and teaming partners in the field to review site conditions, complete condition assessments, and provide technical guidance on structural issues in buildings and underground structures. 
- 
Coordinate with other design professionals, including architects, MEP engineers, civil engineers, and interior designers, to deliver complete design solutions. 
- 
Participate in a thorough QA/QC process for all structural engineering work. 
- 
Assist with sales and marketing activities, including development of technical content and graphics. 
- 
Mentor junior engineering staff. 
Qualifications:
- 
Must be a US Citizen or a green card holder. 
- 
Must have a valid US Driver’s license 
- 
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio is required 
- 
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (curriculum emphasis in structural engineering) from an ABET accredited school. 
- 
Competency with the latest versions of structural design standards, including ASCE-7, NDS for Wood Construction, AISC 360, ACI 530 Masonry Specifications, and ACI-318. 
- 
Competency with industry standard drafting and BIM software packages, including Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit), and the production of structural details, drawings, and plans. 
- 
Prior experience with and interest in client and project management. 
- 
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
- 
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities 
An ideal candidate will meet all of the Qualifications, plus some or all of the following:
- 
Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 
- 
Experience with and understanding of current model codes, including the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC). 
- 
Strong experience in finite element analysis and structural engineering software packages (i.e., Tekla, Risa, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, Risa, or RAM Structural system). 
- 
Prior experience leading structural engineering design work. 
Structural Engineer

This is a full-time on-site role for an Entry Level Structural Engineer, located in Highland Heights, OH. This position offers the unique benefit of challenging structural engineering work on a wide variety of project types and sizes, ranging from small residential remodel projects up to complex infrastructure maintenance and buildout programs for sophisticated public agencies. The position will also include close mentoring with senior engineers and lots of valuable on-the-job training. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of the structural engineering project delivery cycle, from sales and marketing through execution and close out. The position also has the opportunity to develop project management responsibilities for candidates who are interested.

- 
Familiarity with the latest versions of structural design standards, including ASCE-7, NDS for Wood Construction, AISC 360, ACI 530 Masonry Specifications, and ACI-318. 
- 
Familiarity with some of the industry standard drafting and BIM software packages, including Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit), and the production of structural details, drawings, and plans 
- 
Ability to work in a collaborative environment to analyze problems and develop engineering solutions. 
- 
Strong oral and written communication skills. 
- 
A passion for structural engineering and technical problem solving. 
- 
EIT certification or ability and intent to earn within 6 months of hiring. 
An ideal candidate will meet all of the Qualifications, plus some or all of the following:
- 
Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or, two years of practical design experience in buildings or underground structures. 
- 
Eligibility and intent to obtain Professional Engineer licensure (Civil PE or SE) within 4 years of hire 
- 
Experience with and understanding of current model codes, including the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC). 
- 
Strong experience in finite element analysis and structural engineering software packages (i.e., Tekla, Risa, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, Risa, or RAM Structural system). 
- 
Experience with specialized design standards, such as ACI 350 Code Requirements for Environmental Structures, the Aluminum Design Manual (2020 ADM), or the Code of Standard Practice for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings (AISC 313-21).
